1. Tha Phae Gate (ประตูท่าแพ)
Tha Phae Gate is considered the center of Chiang Mai and an important historical site that used to be part of the city wall. Its ancient name is Qingtang-style, which means “city of boats” or “a place of maritime trade.” Tha Phae Gate is one of the five city gates of ancient Chiang Mai. In simple terms, it is the eastern city gate and the most complete city wall in ancient Chiang Mai.
